Dr. Sambuddha Misra holds a PhD from Florida State University and completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge.

He is a leading expert in chemical oceanography and the global carbon cycle, with over 20 years of research experience, more than 30 peer-reviewed papers, and over 1,500 citations to his name. He is the author of a widely cited first-author paper in Science, and is renowned for pioneering low-sample-volume geochemical and isotopic methods used to decode past climate.

At Alt Carbon, Dr. Misra leads cutting-edge R&D at the intersection of geochemistry and planetary intelligence. He also works as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (CEAS) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.
